Scottish marine tech company enters Greek market – Digital Ship

Marine technology company Seall has signed a partnership agreement with Intermarine Electronics to supply software for the company’s new ECDIS (Electronic Chart Display and Information System) product line.

Seall’s partnership with the Greek marine electronics company allows the company to expand its solutions globally, as well as grow its existing footprints in the Turkish and Cypriot markets.

Intermarine, headquartered in Piraeus, Greece, develops, manufactures and supplies marine electronic equipment to a wide range of shipping and ship management companies, as well as private and government organizations, fishing vessels and major offshore operators. The company has been marketing an ECDIS system for several years and designs and produces all of its hardware in-house, but was keen to update it with the latest software technology to create a new product that would be more cost effective and therefore accessible. to all.

Seall’s team of software and IT specialists apply intuitive technology to simplify and streamline the way data is viewed, used and shared from ship to ship. The IMO approved ECDIS is one of the first marine software systems to include a multi-touch screen interface, making it one of the easiest to operate ECDIS systems on the market.

Seall Commercial Director Barry Booth said: “While ECDIS is currently a requirement for SOLAS vessels of 500 GT and above, the technology is also in high demand by smaller vessels. Our ECDIS system is not only fully compliant and user-friendly; it is also the first on the market to offer such advanced technology at an affordable price, making it more accessible to vessels of all sizes.

“As such, this partnership reflects our vision to continually improve the efficiency and safety of maritime navigation, ensuring that a wider range of customers over an ever-expanding geographic reach can access our technology to improve the safety of people at sea.

“It is proof of both the skills of our team and the advanced nature of our technology that Intermarine has chosen Seall as their software partner to upgrade their current ECDIS.”

Intermarine Electronics will stock the first 25 ECDIS systems with the new SEALL software next month.

Ioannidis Panagiotis, Chief Commercial Officer, said: “We are delighted to partner with Seall as they are a highly regarded marine technical software company with the expertise and excellent technical support that we have come to expect from n any partner. Their software is easy to use and robust, and we were particularly impressed with the touchscreen technology. We look forward to a long-term partnership as we deploy our systems globally.
