“Second chance” for undeclared property squares ATHENS 9.84
From Saturday November 6 to December 31, 2021, the platform for reporting undeclared square meters reopens (https://tetragonika.govapp.gr/).
Citizens now have a second chance to declare the real surface area of their properties and thus avoid the payment of significant surcharges, underlines in a press release, the president of the Central Union of Greek Municipalities (KEDE), Dimitris Papastergiou.
The application was developed by KEDE, with the cooperation and support of the Ministries of Digital Governance and the Interior, as well as AADE, HEDNO and GSPS. According to the relevant announcement from KEDE, during the first commissioning period of the specific platform, more than 2.6 million citizens took the opportunity to use it and declare 60 million square meters additional.
Those who took advantage of this opportunity by declaring the actual area of their property, were spared fees and fines, amounting to around 1.5 billion euros, “while with the declarations of square meters additional income, the Municipalities provide on an annual basis additional income, which will be used either to improve the services they provide to their citizens, or to reduce municipal fees, as has already been done in many municipalities ”, specifies the KEDE.
