Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed meets Greek Foreign Minister in Abu Dhabi

Sheikh Abdallah ben Zayed, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, received Nikos Dendias, Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs.

During a business dinner in Abu Dhabi, the ministers discussed possibilities of enhancing cooperation in various fields, the Wam news agency reported.

They also reviewed issues of mutual interest, including regional and international developments.

Sheikh Abdullah welcomed Mr. Dendias’ visit, praising the relationship between the UAE and Greece.

He said diplomatic relations, which began in 1976, have been in continuous progress.

In May, the countries agreed to create a 4 billion euro ($4.22 billion) initiative to invest in the Greek economy.

Investments will be made in sectors such as infrastructure, renewable and new energy, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, food and agriculture, and logistics.

Mr. Dendias offered his condolences on the passing of Sheikh Khalifa and wished further progress and prosperity in the UAE under the leadership of President Sheikh Mohamed.

The Greek minister said his country was proud of the good relations it has with the United Arab Emirates.
