The Grand Hyatt Athens is getting bigger with a major expansion

The Grand Hyatt Athens is called to become largest Grand Hyatt branded hotel in Europe by 2023 after the completion of a major investment project including major expansion and renovation works, the company said.

The Grand Hyatt Athens is the first Grand Hyatt branded hotel in Greece and the first Hyatt hotel in the Greek capital.The hotel, located on Syngrou Avenue and within walking distance of Athens’ main sights and museums, is the second Hyatt-branded hotel in Greece with a sister property. Hyatt Regency in Thessaloniki.

Aimed at business and leisure travelers seeking exceptional accommodations, the city hotel features suites and studio-designed rooms MKV design and equipped with the latest amenities.

The Grand Hyatt Athens is getting bigger

Now in its final phase, the investment project, which began two years ago, concerns the expansion of the existing hotel with the addition and redevelopment of the adjacent building (former ODEON cinema).

The new building, which has an impressive Doric-style facade, will consist of 8 floors which will all be connected to those of the existing hotel building.

In terms of accommodation, 227 new rooms and suites will be addedbringing the total number of rooms at the Grand Hyatt Athens to 548 – including suites with their own plunge pool, something unique for a city hotel in Athens.

A second rooftop swimming pool will be added, with stunning views of the Acropolis, making Grand Hyatt Athens the only hotel in Athens with four swimming poolsincluding the existing rooftop pool, atrium pool and bar, and its indoor spa pool.

Management has also placed great emphasis on the hotel’s conference and event spaces which now occupy three levels and reach 4,400 square meters and include an executive lounge, meeting and syndicate rooms, rooms for interviews and private dinners.

The Grand Hyatt Athens, which opened in 2018, is managed by Knossians/Y&T Daskalantonakis Group under the ownership of real estate investment and development companies Henderson Park and Hines.
